The Santa Clarita Symphony – Get Your Culture Here Are you tired of driving “over the hill” to get your cultural fix?  You don’t have to do that anymore because The Santa Clarita Symphony program for 2005-2006 is here for you to enjoy!  The Santa Clarita Symphony is a group of 75 professional musicians, many of whom live locally, and perform with many nationally recognized orchestras including the Los Angeles Philharmonic. Led by maestro and music director Robert E. Lawson, the Symphony’s goal is to provide a world-class orchestral experience that will enrich the lives of everyone fortunate enough to call the Santa Clarita Valley home.  The Symphony’s commitment to the Santa Clarita Valley runs deep.  The Santa Clarita Symphony is committed to bringing internationally acclaimed artists and composers, along with other exciting orchestral events, to the Valley’s already vibrant and ever-growing cultural mix.   Case in point: Last November, the Santa Clarita Symphony presented “The Russian Masters,” featuring internationally acclaimed pianist Robert Edward Thies.  In 1995, Mr. Thies won the International Prokofiev Competition in St. Petersburg, Russia becoming the only American pianist to accomplish this feat since 1958. Beyond the orchestral events, the Santa Clarita Symphony is deeply committed to Music Education. It is one of our cornerstones.  That’s why, early on, the Board of Directors created an Educational Outreach program designed to bring classical music into the Valley’s public schools.  We have developed educational programs to enchant and stimulate your children to play instruments, including In-school Music ensemble performances, and lecture “informances” Events in the works for our 2005 / 2006 season:
