Board President Jim is co-Founder and Partner of The Wealth Planning Group, a professional services firm specializing in comprehensive wealth management for individuals and small to medium size business owners and he currently holds an Accredited Asset Management Specialist designation.
He attended the College of Financial Planning for hisdesignation and also achieved his Certified Financial Planner designation. Prior to forming his Wealth Management Company, Jim was a financial consultant for A.G. Edwards & Sons, Inc. and an advisor for The Estate Management Group, a Valencia based Wealth Management firm. In the early 1990’s, Jim established BCS where, as owner and operator, he served as a wholesale distributor of consumable computer supplies to companies and municipalities across the United States. Jim also has an extensive background as a professional recording and touring musician. He has toured internationally as keyboardist for Chuck Berry, the Spencer Group, the Turtles, Peter Noone and other recording acts from the 1960’s and 70’s and has recorded on numerous studio projects. As a professional in the entertainment industry, Jim has also produced recordings and served as music director for many live performances, experience that gives him keen insight into co-coordinating and staging live symphonic performances. As a former member of the Los Angeles Musician’s Union Local 47, he is able to understand, first hand, the requirements and sensitivities of the Symphony’s professional members and is able to effectively interface between them and the board. Jim has been a resident of Santa Clarita for 15 years. His passion for Arts & Music, coupled with a desire to improve the quality of life in the community, led him to a position on the Symphony board, where he was elected Chairman in November 2003. |
