Michael Millar
Executive Director        

 

Executive Director and Grammy Award-winning bass trombonist Michael Millar has been a freelance performer in Los Angeles for over 20 years. Dr. Millar is a member of the Music Industry faculty at California State Polytechnic University – Pomona and holds many credits to his name.

 

His credits include performances with the Los Angeles Philharmonic, Ray Charles, Harry James, and Kenny Rogers, and his recent recording work includes Southwest Chamber Music’s Grammy-winning CD Carlos Chávez: Complete Chamber Works, Vol. 2. He holds the degree of Doctor of Musical Arts, with concentrations in Performance and Arts Administration, from Claremont Graduate University, where his teachers in management and leadership included Peter F. Drucker and Jean Lipman-Blumen. Along with his wife, Dava, and children Emily and Matthew, Dr. Millar has been a Santa Clarita resident since 1993. He is a member of the Santa Clarita Arts Alliance (1996-present) and served on the founding board of the Santa Clarita Symphony (2000-2005).
