Our Community

The Santa Clarita Symphony is committed to enhancing the quality of life in Santa Clarita. The Symphony strengthens the economic health of our community and provides value to our donors and advertisers.

  • Santa Clarita arts audiences spend an average of $22 in the community, over and above the cost of admission. Therefore, a sold-out Masterpiece Series concert will generate nearly $20,000 for Santa Clarita businesses – nearly $60,000 for our upcoming three-concert season.

  • In 2004’s “The Big Picture”, the 5th Community Strategic Plan for the City, the citizens of Santa Clarita identified Cultural Arts as the 3rd most important issue to them, surpassed only by traffic and air quality.

  • Santa Clarita participated in the 2002 study by Americans for the Arts, “Arts & Economic Prosperity,” which “provides compelling new evidence that the nonprofit arts are a $2 million dollar industry in Santa Clarita - one that attracts audiences, spurs business development, supports jobs, and generates government revenue.”

  • The study also states that in Santa Clarita “Nonprofit arts organizations, which spend $1.3 million each year, leverage more than $600,000 in additional spending by arts audiences.”

  • Many studies show that children who participate in arts programs receive numerous benefits: they earn higher grades; they receive higher test scores, including math and science scores; and they are less likely to get into trouble with the law. Participation in the arts opens up children’s awareness and lets them think in new ways. They learn to set and meet goals, develop skills, and become achievers. The Symphony is deeply committed to improving children’s lives in Santa Clarita.
