From Robert E. Lawson, Music Director/Conductor I appreciate your interest in the Santa Clarita Symphony. I would like to personally thank you for your belief in the dream that I and the Symphony Board hold for the future. It is people like you who understand the cultural climate of this community, and who also are aware that the need to support a professional symphony is essential to a thriving social and economic environment. Cities throughout the world have been involved in the development of professional symphony orchestras. Often what defines these cities is the formation of their orchestra, which stands as a beacon of high art and serves as a symbol of a successful community. This orchestra is committed to serving our marvelous community through its programs. This is about the quality of life in the place where we live. This is about our children and their development. This is about providing exciting and enriching experiences that will never be forgotten. Every year we have been moving closer to our goals, which are to provide several types of concert series and programs that will involve everyone in the community. That is why I am excited to share with you some of the highlights of our 2006-2007 Season. This year we presented our first “Family Concert” with additional standards-based curriculum for area schools. Currently, we are unable to satisfy the demand for new and expanded programs – we need your help! In this package you will find information on the Symphony’s programs and history; donor levels and benefits; and examples of media coverage. We invite you to make an investment in the Symphony by becoming a member through one of our sponsorship levels. The Santa Clarita Symphony is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation and your donations are tax deductible. If you have questions about the Santa Clarita Symphony, you are welcome to contact me or any other member of our team at 661-284-6044. Sincerely, Robert E. Lawson Music Director/Conductor
