Music Director, Conductor The Santa Clarita Symphony is led by Maestro and Music Director Robert E. Lawson. Mr. Lawson is known for his innovative programming and his unique compositional style.
Mr. Lawson currently chairs the music department at Ventura College and is a member of the music faculty at College of the Canyons. He is also the music director the Santa Clarita Youth Orchestra and previously served as music director for the Symphony of the Canyons for six years. |

Advisory Board Chairman Bob Kellar was the Symphony's first Advisory Board Member, joining the board in 2006. Bob considers one of his primary responsibilities to be his availability to our citizens and to do what he can to maintain a high level quality of life for all. Throughout his 25 years as a Santa Clarita resident, he has played an active role in the community, serving on several local non-profit boards and committees. |

Education Director Education Director Jeffrey Gilbert is currently teaches music at Rio Norte Junior High School. He earned degrees in Music and Music Education from California State University – Northridge in addition to his California Teaching Credential. While at CSUN, he studied conducting under Paul Smith. He has served as Interim Choral Director at the First Presbyterian Church Newhall and Interim Director of Music at Oneonta Congregational Church, South Pasadena. Jeffrey lives in Santa Clarita with his wife Marie and sons Billy and Chris. |
